Everything here comes in homemade flat bread that is hot out tha oven, crisp and chewy and all the right places (making it far, far superior to most other schwarma and pita wraps that come out of a plastic bag from safeway). AMAAAAAZING lebanese food that you don't want to miss out on.

Mama done good!

Oh. It's not really a sit down place so be prepared to grab and go.

Wow, Mama's Bakery and Deli was great! The food was amazing, service fast and efficient with low-key patio style atmosphere. Parking was easy on the street, even at lunch time on Saturday. What really clinched it for me was seeing the flatbread being hand-formed and baked as we were ordering. Fresh, fresh, yum!

I got the baba ganoush wrap - really fantastic. The flat bread was perfect in its freshness and had a great nutty taste to it. The filling was tasty and abundant. Saved half for later.

My bf's lunch was the beef schwarma plate - exceptionally tasty. The beef was so tender it melted in the mouth and had fresh herbs that made for a great top-note taste. The plate came with rice, a salad, hummus and 2 large pieces of bread (pita?) - for around $8 - and he saved half for later, too. The bread with the plate was different than the bread with the wrap - both delish. I can't wait to plunder his hummus that is left over - it was rich and complex.

Truly great. I know we'll be regulars and I can't wait to tell my veg. friends about it - lots of options! YUM.

Best Lebanese food I have ever had hands down. ( and yes I have had Lebanese food more than once! -say 30 times)............

Highlights:
-Garlic chicken wrap-- beware only get if you love garlic
-flat bread- warm and toasty in all the right places
-hummus-- how can you not like hummus?
-beef schwarma- their version of the burrito
-eggplant sandwich- and I don't even like veggies, but I do like fried eggplant

Cheap food, fast service- what else can you ask for?

If you want to eat the food there, don't expect fine dining service or ambiance, it's a hole in the wall, and that is what makes it all the more delightful.

Awesome. That's all I have to say. This place has a huge menu for being such a small operation. They have all sorts of Lebanese dishes and desserts. Try the "fool mudamas over hummus." It's excellent. Garbanzo and fava beans on top of hummus. It's like a thick stew. Full of garlic too and well worth it. Be sure to eat there. It's amazing how low key and relaxing the place is for being not even a block off busy El Cajon Blvd.

you are severely missing out if you don't experience mamas. everything is homemade, authentic Lebanese food and very reasonably priced. I love the hummus wrap (they even put pickles inside!), the falafel wrap, and the med salad. goddamn I miss this place.

I always feel like I give out too many 5 star ratings, but I think I just have good luck finding good places. This is definitely a WINNER in my book. I saw this place for months and months but it closes kinda early so I never had a chance to make it over there. I was also afraid that they did not take credit card but they DO take mcard/visa. You order your food at the counter in what looks like an entryway to a house. Then you sit in the side patio area and wait for them to call your order. When I was there they were calling the orders by number but didn't my friend or I a number???!? No worries though, the food was decently priced at $6ish for a beef schwarma (think burrito meets greek... but really lebanese). They have some nice pix of Beirut on the walls and a clean seating area. Both my friend and I agreed that the food was DELICIOUS.

Bottom Line: Large menu, nice family run type establishment (even if it looks like they have non-Lebanese cooks), appears clean for a "hole in the wall" style establishment, decent prices. 1.5 blocks from my house... I Like!
